The Fortis National Mental
Health Program Story

On May 1, 2012, a team of mental health professionals came together with the fervor to change the landscape of mental health discourse and treatment in India. Thus was born the Fortis National Mental Health Program, under the leadership of Dr. Samir Parikh.

We set forth with an objective to make mental health integral to mainstream healthcare. Today, we have realized a vision that few others in the world have dared to dream. A vision that brings together mental health professionals from across the Fortis Healthcare network in India – to provide scientific, standardized care for mental health, break the shackles of stigma and promote a positive narrative of mental health in the country.

We are a multi-disciplinary team of professionals including psychiatrists, clinical and counselling psychologists, art therapists, psychoanalytic psychotherapists, psycho-oncologists, sport psychologists and remedial experts who work together towards this one overarching vision. What is unique to the Fortis National Mental Health Program is the commitment of our clinical team. Each of our members dedicate time out of our clinical practice to work within the community.

The Fortis National Mental
Health Program Story

Fortis National Mental Health

It is our endeavour to foster awareness, improve access, and make mental health a reality for all. Through initiatives such as our 24x7 stress helpline, the Fortis School Mental Health Program, our academic initiatives for aspiring young psychologists, and our mental health advocacy initiatives on social media, we have impacted 15 crore lives. Adayu marks a new chapter in our journey as we bring clinical excellence, innovation, and most of all, dignity to residential in-patient mental health care.
